During the Covid pandemic masks were everywhere. Despite being seen as sign of people taking care of each other by preventing spread, they also appeared to be a sign of mankinds ignorance of each other and nature at the same time, by showing up as trash everywhere. Them intermixing with ‘nature’s trash’ of fallen leaves on otherwise deserted streets make for a perfect symbolism of the human footprint that will stay forever.

This series is a play of words between the following quote by the Chesire Cat from ‘Alice in Wonderland’ by Lewis Carroll, Alice’s second adventure in Wonderland which is called ‘Through the Looking Glass’ and the fact that a glasses can be called ‘looking glasses’ despite the book actually talking about a mirror.
“I'm not strange, weird, off, nor crazy, my reality is just different from yours.”
I have very bad eyesight. This has more often than not created situation where my experience differs from that of others, which mostly was inexplicable to them. Making others see the world the way I see (physically and mentally) is a constant topic in my life. This series explores this discrepancy in various forms.
